Only the location, the room smelt really bad and there was blood on the blanket.

Cheap price, close to bars.
The soap provided in the washroom has a weird (bad) smell. The air conditioner close to our room (4th floor) is working until 1 am, not allowing sleep.

The location of the hostel is absolutely fantastic, with easy access to fantastic shops and a wide variety of food options. The vibrant street is full of life and bustling activity, even during these uncertain times. Guests can immerse themselves in the lively atmosphere and explore the vibrant surroundings.
The hostel's towel service and key card policy seemed to be a source of frustration for some guests, as mentioned in the reviews.

I didnt like anything but i have many complaints. First, they have changed the hotel name now it is college backpackers not global village kensington. They dont have any sign about this, I have to wander around to find the location of this hotel because I didnt see anything with GVK. When I called hotel telephone for directions, the guy who answered the phone not sure how to give the directions. It dont have a A/C. Does not have a phone. No private bathroom. Moreover, they doing refurbishing. Wi-Fi dint work, I had to beg them to relocate to another room. And I had to beg them for atleast a fan.

Proximity to Kensington Market, helpful staff, nearby public transportation connections, neat and clean bathrooms and showers. The location is great, with a modern kitchen and lounge. Good place for those familiar with the hostel experience. Gem in downtown Toronto, close to entertainment area. Fair breakfast with carbs. Renovated TV room with better layout. Unbelievable service, excellent deal for booked out city. Best location in heart of Kensington market. Refunded for a mix-up.
Absolutely nothing.

The location of this hostel was absolutely fantastic. It was centrally located, making it easy to navigate and explore the city. The common area was vibrant and lively, perfect for meeting other travelers and making new friends. I loved that the rooms had balconies, providing a great spot to relax and enjoy the city views.
The bathroom facilities could use some improvement. There was a lack of hand drying options in the bathroom, which was an inconvenience.

Great value for the money spent, with a well-heated room and good kitchen facilities. The location was perfect for exploring Kensington Market and the nearby Chinatown, with convenient access to public transportation. The staff were friendly and helpful, making check-in a smooth process.
The breakfast offerings could be improved with more variety and options.

Good location, good price, and closed to convenient stores.
The room was not too clean and the wash room was too far from my room.

Actuallyto say, this hotel is very poor in quality. I booked the room with tv set,but there is no tv in my living room. This hotel should be the last choice.if you have any other choice, then, you should give up this one.it's a realy very bad hotel !

the hotel location is crucial inside the town and steps from Toronto univesity and the stuff at the front desk are young students who are supportive and friendly.
the hotel standards were shoking for me,it's far below the minimum standards that I can accept in an hotel specially regarding the bathrooms as there is no private bathroom for each room and it was not clear in your E-site something which might made me seriously decide to cancell the booking on the spot but as I didn't find a smooth alternative and as I had a critical exam I preffered to accept the fact.

Something of a mixed bag, it will not faze the experienced unfussy backpacker a label I'd apply to myself. It may daunt the fussier traveller who values the trimmings of a fancier place. Everything was quite basic, but staff were down to earth, friendly and helpful. I liked the neighbourhood quite a lot which had a bohemian feel to it, lots of "street art" (graffiiti if you prefer) and market stalls and alternative shops. I didn't have time to browse in the music shops to look for vinyl records which I like doing. Though there were some homeless around as well - which is surprisingly common across Toronto.
The club next door is a problem if you're a light sleeper and your room is opposite. It was meant to be just Fridays and Saturdays, but one Tuesday night, it blasted out very loudly.
Tourists from India often stay at these properties. Ideas for your future trips.
